ASKA L2 Pool Cue Set of 5 – 58" Canadian Hardrock Maple, 13mm Leather Tip, Mixed Weights 18–21oz – L2S5

Five cues, five colors, a weight for every player — the ASKA L2S5 is the complete house cue solution for bars, pool halls, and larger game rooms. Built on the same Canadian hardrock maple shaft and 5/16×18 stainless steel joint as the L2S4, this set adds a fifth cue in brown and doubles up on the most popular weight: two cues at 19oz, one for each end of the table. The signature 10mm maple ring at the butt end — natural wood matched to the shaft — gives every L2 cue a finished, quality look.

What's in the Set

  • Red — 18oz — lightest; maximum cue ball control and precision on position shots
  • Green — 19oz — balanced feel; the most popular all-around weight
  • Brown — 19oz — second balanced-feel cue; two players can shoot at 19oz simultaneously without sharing
  • Blue — 20oz — heavier hit; more momentum on long shots and break shots
  • Black — 21oz — heaviest; powerful break cue weight, maximum force transfer

The two 19oz cues are the practical advantage of this set — 19oz is where most recreational players land, and having two means no one waits.

The 10mm Maple Ring — L2 Series Signature Detail

At the base of each L2 cue, just above the white butt cap, sits a 10mm ring of natural maple wood. Made from the same Canadian hardrock maple as the shaft — creating a matched look from tip to butt. The natural wood grain contrasts cleanly with the colored forestock and white butt cap, giving each cue a finished appearance that stands out from plain house cues.

Choosing the Right Weight — Cue Weight Guide

Cue weight affects how the cue ball responds after contact. Heavier cues transfer more momentum; lighter cues give you more feel and control:

  • 18oz — Better Control: ideal for finesse shots, position play, and players focused on spin and English. Good starting point for smaller players or beginners.
  • 19oz — Balanced Feel: the most widely used weight in recreational and club play. This set includes two at 19oz — one for each side of the table.
  • 20oz — Strong Hit: noticeably more power on breaks and long shots.
  • 21oz — Powerful Break: maximum force transfer on the opening break.

What Makes Canadian Hardrock Maple the Standard

Canadian hardrock maple has been the dominant shaft material in pool cues for decades — dense, consistent grain-to-grain, predictable flex on every stroke, holds its straightness over time. The ASKA L2 uses 29" Canadian hardrock maple with a pro taper for smooth, consistent performance shot after shot.

Who This Set Is For

  • Bars and pool halls — five cues cover a full table for two-on-two play with a spare; replace worn house cues in a single order
  • Larger game rooms — more guests, more cues; no one shares or waits between shots
  • Families and regular groups — each person gets a dedicated cue by color
  • Players testing cue weight preferences — five weights in one purchase

L2S5 vs. L2S4 — Which Set to Choose?

  • L2S4 (4 cues) — Red/Green/Blue/Black, one cue at each weight (18/19/20/21oz). Right for smaller tables and groups of 1–4.
  • L2S5 (this set) — adds Brown (19oz), giving two cues at the most popular weight. Right for bars, pool halls, and groups of 4+ where two players often prefer the same weight.

Table Compatibility

  • ✅ Any standard 7, 8, or 9-foot pool table
  • ✅ Bar tables, home tables, club tables
  • ✅ 58" fits any regulation-height table with adequate room
  • ❌ Tight spaces may require a shorter cue — see individual short cues or short cue sets

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does this set have two 19oz cues?
19oz is the most popular cue weight in recreational play. Having two means two players can shoot at the preferred weight simultaneously — which matters in a bar or game room where multiple people play at once.

What is the maple ring at the bottom of the cue?
The 10mm maple ring is a natural wood accent at the butt end, just above the white butt cap. Made from Canadian hardrock maple — matching the shaft — it is a signature design detail of the L2 and L3 cue series.

What weight should a beginner start with?
19oz is the safest starting point — balanced feel, widely used, comfortable for most body types. Lighter players or those focused on spin often prefer 18oz.

Is 58" the right length for my space?
58" works for any regulation-height table with ~5 feet of clearance on all sides. If your room is tighter, browse individual short cues or short cue sets.

How long will the tips last?
With regular use, a hard glued-on tip typically lasts 1–2 years before needing replacement.

Do the cues come assembled?
Each cue arrives in two pieces that screw together via the 5/16×18 joint. No tools required — assembly takes seconds.
